Text Box: Items needed for First Response Bags (We are using full sized items, as opposed to travel or trial sizes) ·        Toothpaste (best deals we’ve found:  Walgreen’s and any Dollar Store) ·        2-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner  (Such as Pert or Suave 2-in-1 For Men) ·  Hand lotion and body wash  (bottled body wash will be easier to transport than a bar of soap) ·        Towel and washcloth (watch for clearance items at Wal-Mart and Kohl’s) ·        Antiperspirant/Deodorant (Walgreen’s has on sale 2 for $3 frequently) ·        Hand sanitizer  (found 8 oz for $1 at a Dollar Store, flip top lids are best) ·        Lip balm  (Cherry or Mint Chapstick are perfect) ·        Comb and brush (found good ones at the dollar store) ·        Razors and shaving cream (Costco is great for big boxes of razors) ·        Hat and gloves for winter, sun block for the summer  (Walgreen’s, Wal-Mart, or even Menard’s has great sales on these) ·        $8.00 Gift certificates for Dairy Queen (enough for a meal) ·        Travel size first aid kit (available at dollar stores) ·        Socks, underwear, t-shirt (L – XL – XXL)  (Kohl’s has great clearance prices) ·        Non-perishable snack (Pringles, cookies, Fiber One bars, trail mix, anything in a crush-resistant container) Approximately 98% of veterans receiving these bags will be men - but we will still need some items for women, so feel free to get some 'girlie stuff'. Walgreen’s has a monthly Rebate Saver’s Club where you can get many of these items free after rebate.  Ask Cari for details on this program! We also provide them with TWIN sheet sets as we find good deals on them.  MAC-V told me about the 'used' sheets they get from a hotel in Duluth - and I KNOW we can do better than that for our veterans!!
